Siddharth Anand and Hrithik Roshan teamed up again for “Fighter” after the massive success of “War” and “Bang Bang”. With high expectations, thanks to Siddharth’s previous hit “Pathaan”, starring Shah Rukh Khan, unfortunately, “Fighter” didn’t meet the mark on multiple fronts.

The makers of “Fighter” chose to release the film on January 25th, hoping to capitalize on the Republic Day weekend and replicate the success of “Pathaan” from the previous year. The film had a decent opening, earning 22.5 crore rupees, and saw a significant boost on Republic Day with 39.5 crore rupees. However, the film’s collections declined on Saturday to 27.5 crore rupees and then picked up again on Sunday, reaching 29 crore rupees. Unfortunately, starting from Monday, the film’s collections dropped significantly, earning 8 crore rupees, 7.5 crore rupees, 6.6 crore rupees, and 6 crore rupees on the subsequent weekdays.
However, “Fighter” experienced a significant surge in collections during its second weekend, earning 5.75 crore rupees on Friday, 10.5 crore rupees on Saturday, and 12.5 crore rupees on Sunday. Unfortunately, the momentum was short-lived as the film’s collections dropped again after the weekend, earning approximately 12.25 crore rupees over the next four days. This resulted in a second-week total of just 41 crore rupees, marking a 72% decline from its first week.

In its third week, “Fighter” is now up against the competition of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,” which released on Friday. While the film has received mixed reviews from critics, fans have been enjoying it so far, and positive word-of-mouth is spreading.
